Woo Do-hwan revealed he put on 13 kg for his role in "Bloodhounds" Season 2.

At the "Bloodhounds" Season 2 press conference held on the morning of the 31st at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel, the Netflix star said, “To show how the character has changed after training hard for three years, I gained about 13 kg from where I am now. I bulked up for Season 1 too, but this time I added about 5 kg more.”

He continued, “Since I’d done it once for Season 1, I figured Season 2 would be a bit easier. If you keep at it, the workout part is relatively straightforward compared to other prep. For an actor, building your body is easier than changing your inner world or studying the script to complete a character.”

Released in 2023, "Bloodhounds" delivered an adrenaline rush with two young boxers taking on ruthless illegal loan sharks through raw, bare-knuckle action. Three years later, Season 2 follows Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi) as they throw another satisfying straight hook―this time at a global illegal boxing league ruled by money and violence. Jung Ji-hoon joins as the ultimate villain Baekjeong, who runs the underground league.

Woo Do-hwan plays Gun-woo, a righteous young boxer with a champion’s heart and fiery fists, grinding day by day toward his dream. After a grueling climb, Gun-woo finally reaches the longed-for title match―only to become a target for Baekjeong, the league’s mastermind.

On reuniting for Season 2, Woo said, “It feels like we’ve been together for a long time. I’m honored to be here again because so many people loved Season 1.”

He highlighted “growth” as the biggest shift in Gun-woo for Season 2. “Gun-woo kept training with the world champion title in mind, and he grew. He also got even closer to Woo-jin. If he felt like a total rookie before, in Season 2 I wanted to show him maturing into more of an adult.”

"Bloodhounds" 2 runs for seven episodes and premieres Friday, April 3 on Netflix.
