Global outlets are zooming in on BTS’ fifth studio album, "ARIRANG", putting a spotlight on the group’s comeback. International media praised the album’s musical polish, narrative, and the message behind the lead single, "SWIM".

Rolling Stone wrote that "ARIRANG" proves “a blockbuster-level comeback,” one that underscores the group’s identity and Korean roots while expanding into new musical territory. The outlet added that BTS has strengthened its connection with fans worldwide, bringing the members’ separate experiences back together as one team.

NPR noted that "ARIRANG" shows how BTS has built its own musical texture, saying the reunited members reveal a clearer direction with stronger unity than ever.

Rolling Stone UK gave the album a perfect 5 out of 5, calling BTS “a cultural phenomenon and a symbol of global expansion,” and praising the project for its scale and completeness.

Praise for the title track continued. Billboard said the title track firmly anchors the album. The Hollywood Reporter analyzed "SWIM" as an intuitive statement of moving forward, marking a turning point in their career. Forbes also highlighted the song’s presence and commanding performance power.

The BBC emphasized that the group’s return itself carries major significance. The New York Times called the release of "ARIRANG" and a Netflix live concert broadcast a new way of continuing their career as pop stars, calling it a rare move with few precedents besides Elvis Presley.

Meanwhile, "ARIRANG" is an album that encapsulates BTS’ identity and universal emotions, with Bang Si-hyuk serving as executive producer.
