“I feel like we’ve come back to where we were always meant to be.”

The trailer for the making-of documentary behind BTS’s fifth studio album, "ARIRANG", is here.

Dropped on the group’s official social accounts at 8 a.m. on March 17, the trailer for "BTS: THE RETURN" spotlights the group’s past, present, and future. It cuts between footage from their past world tour, military discharge moments, and a songwriting session in Los Angeles for new music.

The members open up about their comeback: “Trends change, and we can’t keep doing the same thing,” and “If we’re going to change, it has to be now.” They also reflect on identity, saying they’re “still just country boys from Korea,” a nod to the new album’s core theme of returning to their roots. Everyday scenes of the members enjoying simple moments hint at how their feelings and daily inspirations may have flowed into the music.

The trailer weaves in the Korean folk song "Arirang" as a background track, adding a quiet, heartfelt touch. Its melody pairs with narration like “I think we’ve come back to where we were always meant to be” and “Maybe these are scenes only we could create,” building anticipation for BTS’s next chapter. All seven members gathering to brainstorm, record, and film makes the wait for their new activities even harder.

"BTS: THE RETURN" premieres March 27 on Netflix. The film is directed by Bao Nguyen, who earned nominations for Netflix’s "The Greatest Night in Pop" at the 2025 Grammy Awards (Best Music Film) and in three categories at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
