Park Ji-hoon's 'The King's Warden' Draws 130,000 on Weekday in Week 7, Set to Surpass 'Frozen 2'

The film "The King's Warden" is still surging, pulling in more than 130,000 moviegoers on a weekday in its seventh week of release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office tracker on the 17th, "The King's Warden" drew 133,941 admissions nationwide on the 16th, holding the No. 1 spot at the box office. Its cumulative total now stands at 13,601,732 admissions.

On the 16th, the film surpassed "Veteran"’s 13.41 million admissions to rank No. 5 among all Korean films and No. 7 overall (including international titles) in Korean box office history. It’s expected to overtake "Frozen 2" (13.76 million) soon.

Set in 1457 in Cheongnyeongpo, the movie follows a village chief who chooses exile to revive his community and a young former king who has been exiled from the throne. The film is directed by Jang Hang-jun and stars Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Ji-tae, and Jeon Mi-do.
