TV personality MC Ding Dong, who sparked controversy for assaulting a female guest during an internet “Excel” livestream, said “parts have been distorted” and signaled legal action.
On the 11th, MC Ding Dong wrote on his social media, “Among what’s spreading online right now, there are clearly parts that are false or distorted,” adding, “I view this matter very seriously and, through legal counsel, I’m taking necessary steps including civil and criminal action.”
His side is reportedly reviewing legal responses over malicious comments, the spread of false information, and unauthorized posting of videos.
“I don’t take the gravity of this incident lightly and will remain responsible to the end,” he said. “But I will no longer overlook situations where false claims are being treated as fact.” He added, “The exact details will be revealed through legal procedures and the investigation.”
MC Ding Dong appeared on an “Excel” show on internet platform Panda TV and was chatting with female BJs (streamers) when one participant brought up his past DUI case. He cursed, then grabbed the BJ by the hair and shook her. The moment aired live, and viewers could hear the cast shouting, “Move the camera,” in shock.
He left the set, then returned to apologize to viewers and the cast. “As soon as I heard it was about something two years ago, I lost my temper,” he said, adding, “That incident left me with my own trauma. I’ll make sure this never happens again,” while in tears.
King the Land, which runs the show, announced, “Due to the MC’s sudden actions, a cast BJ suffered physical harm in a serious situation,” adding, “Considering the severity, we have immediately removed the MC from the program and suspended the channel.”
The female BJ who says she was assaulted posted on an online community that she is receiving psychiatric counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and panic symptoms after the incident, and that she was diagnosed with injuries requiring two weeks of treatment. She added, “I have hired a lawyer and filed a criminal complaint against MC Ding Dong for assault.”
Previously, in 2022, MC Ding Dong was arrested after driving drunk, ignoring a police stop order, and fleeing. He was tried on charges including violating the Road Traffic Act and obstructing special official duties, receiving a suspended sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison with 2 years’ probation. He halted broadcast activities afterward, then recently returned as a pre-show MC before becoming embroiled in controversy again.
