Netflix’s animated film "KPop Demon Hunters" took home the Vanguard Award at the Unforgettable Gala Awards, held March 7 (local time) in Beverly Hills, California.
Stars from "KPop Demon Hunters", including lead Arden Cho and Ji-young Yoo, who plays Zoey, attended the ceremony to celebrate the win together.
Co-hosted by Character Media and GoldenTV, the Unforgettable Gala Awards is a ceremony with more than 20 years of history. It honors outstanding achievements by Asian and Pacific Islander (API) artists and aims to expand opportunities and visibility for future generations.
This year’s event gathered a wide range of API talent. In addition to "KPop Demon Hunters"’s win, Academy Awards nominee Chloé Zhao received the Global Icon Award, and "The Wedding Banquet"’s Bowen Yang won the Film Acting Award. Park Chan-wook of "No Other Choice" earned the Director Award, and Daniel Dae Kim took home the Drama Acting Award.
Before the ceremony, Arden Cho spoke on the “Asian Women Are Strong 2026: Beyond the Spotlight” panel in San Francisco. Despite a delayed flight, she made it to the gala and shared the moment with attendees. “This film truly celebrates culture and community,” she said, adding, “It’s deeply meaningful as a project shaped by artists around the world who poured their voices and lived experiences into it.”
