Actor Yoo Yeon-seok is opening up about marriage.
On the March 8 episode of SBS’s "My Little Old Boy", the “romance icon” Yoo Yeon-seok appears as a special MC and is set to make the Mom Avengers’ hearts flutter.
Yoo Yeon-seok joined the recent studio shoot to fulfill a ratings pledge he made at the 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards. At the time, he promised that if Teumman Nameun, the SBS show he MCs, topped 5% in ratings, he would guest on "My Little Old Boy", which won the “Highest Ratings Program Award.” The studio erupted in applause at his loyalty to the promise. MC Shin Dong-yup then threw out a bold new bet: if Yoo’s new SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Phantom Lawyer" breaks 10% in ratings, he should do “this.” Yoo agreed, sending the studio into a buzz.
That day, Yoo reenacted iconic drama scenes, making not only the Mom Avengers but even MCs Shin Dong-yup and Seo Jang-hoon swoon. Whispering to the moms, “Tell me how not to love you, noona,” he quoted a famous line from "When the Phone Rings," prompting the panel to cover their faces in shy delight. When the now-viral line “Will you undress, or should I do it for you?” came up, R-rated talk master Shin Dong-yup joked, “It’d be fun to parody this,” cheekily twisting it in his own style and cracking everyone up.
Yoo also surprised the studio by sharing, “I’m not anti-marriage. I want to get married in my 40s.” Known for taking great care of child actors, he added, “My eyes change when I look at kids,” and, “If I have a daughter, I want to braid her hair.” When an AI-generated image predicting his future daughter’s face was revealed, he couldn’t look away, repeatedly marveling, “She’s so cute.”
