Girls’ Generation member and actor Yuri has shared a first look at rehearsals for the psychological thriller play "The Wasp."
"The Wasp" is a two-hander that follows high school classmates Heather and Carla, who reunite after 20 years. Yuri takes on the role of Carla, a woman battling through a harsh, day-to-day life ― signaling another bold transformation.
Carla, whom Yuri portrays, once bullied Heather back in school. After an unexpected reunion, she’s hit with a shocking proposal she never saw coming. Yuri is set to deliver the character’s rapid-fire emotional shifts and instinctive choices in extreme situations with tightly wound intensity ― promising a gripping, fully immersive experience for audiences.
In the newly released rehearsal shots, her icy, composed face and red-rimmed eyes alone convey the character’s tangled inner world, cranking up anticipation for an explosive performance on opening night. From dramas and films to the stage, Yuri has continually pushed into new territory to expand her acting spectrum. All eyes are on how she’ll leave her mark with this production.
Meanwhile, "The Wasp", starring Yuri, runs from March 8 through April 26 at Sejong S Theater.
