‘The Roundup 5’ has issued a warning about scammers posing as production staff.
On March 5, the production team announced via its official social media that reports have come in of people impersonating staff and approaching individuals under the guise of actor auditions or casting offers.
They added that while staff may directly contact actors who are not represented by an agency, they always state their affiliation and real name, and will verify their identity upon request with a business card or similar ID. If someone refuses identity verification or insists on communicating only through anonymous channels (like open chat), exercise extreme caution.
They also stressed that no money is ever requested at any stage of casting, and they do not ask for one-on-one meetings in inappropriate, non-official locations. Please beware of scams.
The production stated it will pursue strong legal action against impersonation and fraud, and urged the public to stay vigilant to prevent similar incidents.
‘The Roundup’ is a hit film series that has surpassed 10 million admissions three times, a first in Korean cinema. ‘The Roundup 5’ is in pre-production and is slated to open in 2027.
