Yerin Ha, who shot to fame as the new lead of Netflix’s global hit series, opened up about the responsibility she feels as an Asian actor.

At a press conference for "Bridgerton" Season 4 held in Myeong-dong, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 4th, Ha was asked if worldwide attention from the new season has changed her standing. “I still feel like I’m at the beginning,” she said.

“I think I’m dealing with impostor syndrome,” she shared. “Sometimes I wonder if I’m here purely because of luck. And if it is just luck, I get scared thinking, how long will that luck last?”

“Even so, what matters is that I feel a tremendous sense of responsibility,” she emphasized. “I’m determined not to take that lightly.”

Ha added, “There’s still a long way to go in representing Asians in Hollywood. In that context, I’m happy I can help lead change. If I can help bring change for many people in the industry, I’ll gladly carry that responsibility.”

She also noted shifts she’s felt while working in Hollywood in recent years. “I do feel a real change in attitude,” Ha said. “There’s been a shift in how people interact and communicate with actors of color. There’s definitely more fairness and equality than before. Even just getting to audition a bit more often―that’s the start of change.”

The Korean Australian actor made her Hollywood debut and drew attention with "Halo" Seasons 1 and 2 and "Dune: Prophecy." She is now gaining global attention as Sophie, the female lead in "Bridgerton" Season 4 on Netflix.
