British-born TV personality Eva Popiel (43), who made her debut in 2006, has officially acquired South Korean citizenship.

Popiel recently shared the news on her social media, posting, “Finally, thank you. Republic of Korea citizenship.” The photos show her at the Yangju Immigration Office in Gyeonggi Province during her citizenship conferment ceremony, smiling brightly in front of the South Korean flag.

Born in 1981 to a Polish-British father and a Japanese mother, Popiel was born in Japan and attended elementary school there before moving to the U.K. with her family, where she completed her studies. She majored in Chinese at Durham University and, while on an exchange program in China, met Korean friends and developed an interest in Korean culture.

Popiel began her TV career in 2006 on the KBS2 variety show "Global Talk Show," where her fluent Korean and candid commentary made her a breakout favorite. In 2010, she married her Korean husband, Lee Kyung-gu, who is one year younger, holding weddings in both Guam and Korea. The couple is in their 16th year of marriage and has two sons.

Since 2021, she has appeared on the SBS variety show "Kick a Goal," showcasing her strong fitness and athletic skills.
