'The King's Warden' Tops Box Office For 21 Straight Days, Surpasses 6.2 Million Admissions

The film "The King's Warden" has held No. 1 at the box office for 21 consecutive days.

According to the Korean Film Council’s box office data on the 25th, “The King's Warden” drew 194,646 moviegoers nationwide on the 24th to stay atop the chart. Its cumulative admissions now stand at 6,218,972.

Since opening on the 4th, "The King's Warden" surpassed 6 million admissions in 18 days, outpacing "The King and the Clown"―the first historical epic to hit 10 million―by two days.

Even entering its fourth week, the film’s daily audience is nearly double its opening-week pace, showing real momentum toward the 10 million milestone. It’s also likely to cross 7 million this week.

Set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, the movie follows a village chief who chooses exile to revive his community and a young former king who has been deposed and banished. Yoo Hae-jin and Park Ji-hoon star.
