Singer Jung Dong-won (19) is enlisting in the Marine Corps.
His agency Showplay Entertainment said on the 23rd, “Jung Dong-won will enter the Marine Corps training camp and faithfully fulfill his military duty.”
“It’s a decision that follows a wish he has held for a long time,” the agency added. “Jung Dong-won made a responsible choice to keep a promise to himself.”
They continued, “Please send warm support so Jung Dong-won can complete his service in good health and return more mature. We will also continue to support him until the day he comes back.”
On the 5th, Jung released the remake mini album ‘Collection of Props Vol. 2,’ a gift for fans to listen to during his military hiatus.
On the 13th, he held a special fan concert at KINTEX in Ilsan, meeting fans in person. It was his first fan concert and his final meetup before enlistment, and it wrapped to a sold-out crowd.
After completing basic training, Jung Dong-won is scheduled to serve for 18 months.
In January 2020, he appeared on TV Chosun’s "Mr. Trot" and placed fifth in the finals thanks to his standout skills.
