"Whenever Possible" held onto its crown as Tuesday’s top variety show.

The Feb. 10 broadcast of SBS’s "Whenever Possible" scored a peak rating of 5.6%, with 4.2% for households and 1.9% in the key 20-49 demo. Notably, the 20-49 rating ranked No. 1 across all Tuesday dramas and variety shows, proving the show’s strong pull. (Nielsen Korea, Seoul Capital Area)

This episode featured 2MCs Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok, joined by “Gap Friends” comedians Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook, sparking laugh-out-loud chemistry with SBS Sports casters at Sangam and the Ttareungi bike maintenance team.

Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook kicked things off in harmony. When Yoo Jae-suk proudly introduced them as “the singers I raised,” Song Eun-yi replied, “If it’s you, sunbae, of course I had to be here,” showing her loyalty. Meeting Yoo Yeon-seok for the first time, Kim Sook joked, “He’s such a baby―are we even going to have a proper conversation today?” When Song Eun-yi teased that Yoo once failed to recognize her photo in a quiz, he laughed it off: “I’m just bad at that game.” Song Eun-yi quipped, “But that was one of my good photos. If it were Jang Hang-jun or Park Sung-kwang’s photo, he would’ve nailed ‘Song Eun-yi’ right away,” setting the tone for fresh, funny banter.

Their first “Tteum” hosts were SBS Sports casters Jung Woo-young and Lee Jun-hyuk. A self-professed fan, Jung said, “Every time I watch live, I think, ‘This is more than sports,’” and promised on-the-spot game commentary. The first mission was “Water Bottle Batting,” knocking down plastic bottles by hitting a baseball with a bat. Kim Sook smashed a strong hit to clear Level 1, then sealed Level 2 with a walk-off single. Song Eun-yi cheered, “Sook is our no. 3 slugger!” and Jung Woo-young exclaimed, “This is basically the Korea Series right now,” riding the dopamine high. They fell short at Level 3, and Lee Jun-hyuk summed it up: “Because it’s sports, it can’t always be a happy ending.”

During a quick lunch break, Song Eun-yi and Kim Sook showed love for the team’s youngest, Yoo Yeon-seok. “He’s more easygoing than he looks―he’s great,” Kim Sook praised. Song Eun-yi added, “He gives off a handsome Kwang-soo vibe,” jokingly inducting Yoo into their honorary comedian lineup. Then came a heartwarming chat about the 30-year friendship among Yoo Jae-suk, Song Eun-yi, and Kim Sook. Mentioning Song’s recent win after 33 years, Kim Sook teared up: “I cried when she got that award. She’s always been the one cheering me on.” Yoo Jae-suk chimed in, “Next up, the big prize!” Song Eun-yi reminisced, “I remember when Jae-suk was up for Rookie of the Year. He bought a luxury suit because he was a nominee, but he didn’t win,” and Yoo cracked, “Paying off that suit in installments was rough,” sending the room into laughter.

Next up were maintenance technicians for Seoul’s public bike “Ttareungi.” The hosts bonded over their tight friendship built around bicycles. The second mission, “Rolling Chair Relay,” had the team ferry balloons while seated in work chairs. They breezed through Level 1―even with a few tumbles―then nailed the Level 2 rule of moving in pairs, showing seasoned teamwork. “We were perfect,” Yoo Jae-suk said. Level 3 demanded all four to pass the balloon in sequence, a high-difficulty challenge they cleared in a last-minute success. Everyone celebrated with a joyful circle dance. “Maybe it’s our 30 years in sync, but everything just clicked,” Kim Sook said proudly. Song Eun-yi added to Yoo Yeon-seok, “Maknae, feel free to text ‘Sister Song’ and ‘Sister Sook’ anytime!” keeping the laughs going to the end.

With variety-honed instincts, Yoo Jae-suk, Song Eun-yi, Kim Sook, and Yoo Yeon-seok delivered big laughs and a jolt of adrenaline. The longtime trio’s tight friendship powered slick back-and-forth, while Yoo Yeon-seok’s quick wit with the “three comedian hyungs” completed their chemistry.

The “nooks-and-crannies” variety show "Whenever Possible" airs every Tuesday at 9 p.m.
