Busker Busker Founding Member Park Kyung-gu, a Musical Partner to Jang Beom-june, Dies at 36

Busker Busker’s founding member and longtime collaborator Park Kyung-gu has passed away at 36.

According to his family, Park died on February 7. He is survived by his parents and an older brother. A cousin shared, “It still doesn’t feel real, but I’m sharing this obituary on behalf of the family. We’d be grateful if you could send him off with warmth.”

Park, a Hanbit High School classmate of Jang Beom-june, performed with him as part of Busker Busker. He was deeply involved in composition and arrangement on Jang Beom-june 1st Album, contributing to multiple tracks including “Difficult Woman,” “SThe One I Love,” “Sinpung Station Exit No.2 Blues,” and “Fallen Leaves Ending.”

In March last year, Park shared that he took part in Jang Beom-june’s 4th studio album, "History of a Loser," adding, “I made music for the first time in a while.” When Jang later posted wishing for Park’s recovery, Park replied in May, “I’m healthy,” reassuring fans.

On February 9, two days after Park’s passing, Jang paid tribute by uploading an edited live clip of Park to his YouTube channel.

The funeral was held at a funeral hall in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, with the procession on the 9th.
