Jo In-sung brings his playful variety instincts to SBS’s "Whenever Possible".
On the Feb. 3 episode, hosts Yoo Jae-suk and Yoo Yeon-seok team up with actors Jo In-sung, Park Hae-joon and Park Jung-min for a high-energy romp through Seoul’s Gangdong District.
Jo leans into hometown pride, cracking, “I used to be the ‘Son of Gangdong,’ but now I’m basically a Bangi-dong loner,” before name-dropping fellow Gangdong natives like director Ryoo Seung-wan and webtoon creator Kang Full. Treating the neighborhood like his personal playground, he even suggests hitchhiking when a bus takes too long―“Let’s just flag someone down”―pushing even unflappable emcee Yoo Jae-suk to break a sweat.
He then earns the night’s “roast master” crown with Yoo in his sights. After Yoo’s flashy warm-up is followed by timid gameplay, Jo needles him with, “What’s going on, Jae-suk?” Yoo fires back with exasperated groans―“Jo In-sung, seriously?”―while lying in wait for Jo to slip up. But Jo keeps pressing the advantage; at a clutch moment he jokes, “Sub Jae-suk out. I can’t trust him,” even playing the substitution card and startling the host. Yoo pleads, “Don’t bench me―I’ve got this,” leaving the set in stitches.
Want to see how the “Son of Gangdong” shakes up his old stomping grounds―and how his chaotic back-and-forth with Yoo Jae-suk ends? Tune in to "Whenever Possible" on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 9 p.m. on SBS.
