The romantic drama movie "Once We Were Us" has held the No. 1 spot at the Korean box office for 17 days running.

According to the Korean Film Council’s KOBIS database on the 28th, the film drew 31,908 moviegoers on the 27th, pushing its cumulative admissions to 2,066,359.

Released on Dec. 31, "Once We Were Us" sped past 1 million admissions in 12 days and hit 2 million by day 15, becoming the first melodrama since 2019’s Crazy Romance to cross the 2 million mark in seven years.

Now in its fifth week, daily turnout has eased into the low-30,000 range, but the film is still holding onto the top spot. It’s expected to remain No. 1 until next week’s debut of "The King's Warden."

"Once We Were Us" follows former lovers Eun-ho (Koo Kyo-hwan) and Jung-won (Moon Ga-young), who unexpectedly reunite a decade later and sift through the traces of a once-blazing romance. Koo and Moon lead the cast.
