Netflix’s new series "The Art of Sarah", starring Shin Hye-sun and Lee Jun-hyuk, has rolled out its main poster and an atmospheric first trailer.
"The Art of Sarah" follows “Sara Kim” (Shin Hye-sun), a woman determined to become a luxury brand unto herself―even if it’s all a brilliant fake―and “Mu-gyeong” (Lee Jun-hyuk), the man obsessed with unmasking her desires. The newly revealed poster spotlights Sara Kim and Park Mu-gyeong framed by clues hinting at their tangled backstories.
Sara Kim’s character poster layers redacted IDs, handbags, and business cards, teasing a chameleon whose true identity refuses to come into focus. Paired with the line, “If you can’t tell it’s fake, is it still a fake?”, the image positions her life squarely on the knife’s edge between truth and fabrication.
By contrast, Mu-gyeong’s poster leans into his relentless gaze and the tools of the hunt―chalkboard scrawl from interrogations, handcuffs, and more―signaling a dogged pursuit that won’t let up. “Who are you, really, standing in front of me?” hints at the mounting confusion he faces the closer he gets to the truth.
The trailer opens on Sara Kim’s ominous voiceover―“Lies, like a beautiful sunset, make everything look perfect. Until they’re exposed”―as she falls into a heap of trash, tears streaking her face. Though she introduces herself as Sara Kim, conflicting testimonies from those who’ve crossed her path do anything but clarify who she really is. Meanwhile, Mu-gyeong’s investigation leads him to a chilling possibility: what if “Sara Kim” doesn’t exist at all?
From tear-streaked vulnerability to polished confidence to pleas for mercy, Sara Kim’s many faces flash by under the line “The Name Everyone Desires,” deepening the intrigue around the meaning and mythology she’s built. “There’s one thing you can never erase―the memories of the people around you,” Mu-gyeong warns, teasing revelations that will surface through those in her orbit and ratcheting up the tension.
And just before the cut, Sara Kim purrs, “Detective, I haven’t told you everything yet,” dangling the promise of secrets yet to come―and the truth that only gets sharper the deeper you dig.
"The Art of Sarah", a twisty mystery that tracks the sudden ascent of a woman who bewitched everyone in the room, premieres February 13 on Netflix.
