Singer Lee Mujin lights up the finale of "The Ballad of Us Radio" with a surprise appearance.
On the Jan. 27 episode of SBS’s "The Ballad of Us Radio", Lee teams up with the Top 12 for a seamless onstage moment.
During the “If You Miss Them, You’ll Meet Them” segment, Lee ― the Top 12’s chosen role model ― steps into the studio to roaring cheers from the cast and the Mini Top 100 judges. He shares that he came specifically to root for Lee Ye-ji, a junior from his alma mater, adding, “I already knew of Ye-ji ― I was thrilled to see her on 'The Ballad of Us.'”
Lee then joins Lee Ye-ji for an impromptu duet of Kim Bum-soo’s “Last Love.” He jumps into what had been Ye-ji’s solo rehearsal, and without any prep, the two lock into effortless harmonies that leave everyone stunned. “How is that even possible?” marvels Cha Tae-hyun, as both the Mini Top 100 judges and the Top 12 wipe away tears.
Meanwhile, Im Ji-sung is overcome with emotion at the sight of his idol and breaks down in tears, surprising everyone. A flustered Lee Mujin apologizes with a laugh ― “Sorry?” ― before pulling Im into a warm hug. Im reveals that Lee inspired him to audition for "The Ballad of Us", adding, “After Mom and Dad, it’s Lee Mujin,” drawing laughs through the tears.
The final-night special stage featuring Lee Mujin and the Top 12 airs tonight at 10:40 p.m. KST on "The Ballad of Us Radio".
