The romance drama "Once We Were Us", starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young, has topped Korea’s box office for 10 consecutive days.
According to the Korean Film Council’s KOBIS database on the 21st, "Once We Were Us" drew 43,773 moviegoers on Monday to stay at No. 1, pushing its cumulative admissions to 1,665,643.
The film cleared its break-even point of 1.1 million admissions just 13 days after release and hasn’t lost steam in its fourth week, maintaining a strong lead. All eyes are on this weekend, when it’s poised to crack the 2 million mark.
Meanwhile, new Korean release "Project Y" opens today (Jan. 21). Led by Han So-hee and Jun Jong-seo, the title is neck and neck with "Once We Were Us" in advance ticketing, setting up a tight showdown that should shape the weekend chart.
