Choi Jung-won, formerly of the K-pop duo UN, has been fully cleared of long-running affair allegations after South Korea’s Supreme Court dismissed an appeal by the ex-husband who brought the case, effectively ending a four-year legal saga.

According to legal filings, the Supreme Court rejected the final appeal from “B,” the ex-husband of a married woman identified as “A,” who had been rumored to be involved with Choi. The appellate court’s ruling―finding no adultery―now stands, and B is responsible for the costs of the appeal.

While a lower court initially placed blame for the couple’s divorce on A and ordered her to pay 30 million won in damages, the appeals court overturned that decision. Judges found that A’s relationship with Choi did not constitute an affair and determined the marriage’s breakdown was unrelated to the rumors. B challenged that outcome at the Supreme Court, which declined to hear the case, closing the matter for good.

Following the decision, A wrote on social media that the Supreme Court’s dismissal “confirms there was no affair,” adding, “I’ve waited more than four years for this.”

The controversy dates back to December 2022, when B filed a 100 million won damages suit against Choi. At the time, Choi denied any wrongdoing, describing A as a longtime family friend from the neighborhood and insisting there was nothing improper between them.
