Shin Sae-kyoung is teaming up with director Ryoo Seung-wan for the first time in the new feature "HUMINT" ― and expectations are already high.

Set against the icy shores of Vladivostok, "HUMINT" follows a collision of characters with clashing agendas, where secrets and truths alike vanish beneath frozen waters.

Known for her nuanced, emotionally grounded performances, Shin joins as the film’s final puzzle piece. “From the first page, I had no doubts ― my heart raced as I read,” she says. “It’s an honor to be part of this.”

Shin plays Chae Seon-hwa, a server at a North Korean restaurant in Vladivostok who becomes entangled with Jo In-sung’s operative Cho, Park Jung-min’s Park Geon, and Park Hae-joon’s Hwang Chi-seong. Newly released stills tease a mysterious aura ― and a gaze that means business.

“Shin Sae-kyoung has a freshness that only she possesses,” says director Ryoo. “You can feel the strength of her inner core, which makes working with her a joy.” He adds, “Her close-ups on the big screen have a singular impact. Audiences will see a side of Shin Sae-kyoung they haven’t seen before.”

"HUMINT" opens February 11.
