Netflix has dropped the main poster and trailer for "Can This Love Be Translated?", the romantic comedy led by Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung.
The series follows Joo Ho-jin (Kim), a multilingual interpreter who suddenly finds himself translating for global A-lister Cha Mu-hee (Go). The poster captures the duo locked in a sweet gaze, teasing instant chemistry and fluttery tension.
Set against sun-drenched Italian streets, the key art leans into the show’s warm, old-world romance as Ho-jin and Mu-hee’s story hops across borders. The tagline, “The Language I Want to Understand Most: Yours,” hints at a playful twist: he’s fluent in many tongues, but love remains his trickiest dialect―while she’s determined to speak his language better than anyone else.
The trailer opens with Ho-jin effortlessly switching between Japanese and Italian, then cuts to a feisty run-in at a restaurant in Japan, where he and Mu-hee trade jabs and sparks. After Mu-hee skyrockets to global fame and is cast in an international dating reality show alongside Japan’s reigning romance prince, actor Sota Fukushi as Hiro, fate brings Ho-jin back into her orbit―this time as her interpreter during a press interview. When Mu-hee asks him to join her on a “romantic trip” shoot, his answering smile sets the stage for a whirlwind love story on the move.
Still, communication isn’t always cute. “Say it however you want―sharp or blunt. This time, I’ll really listen,” Mu-hee tells him. Ho-jin fires back, “Try saying it so I can understand. Your language is too hard for me.” The question lingers: can their mixed signals finally translate to love?
Between sweeping shots of Canada and Italy, the teaser also flashes the fan-favorite persona “Dorami,” the character that crowned Mu-hee a global superstar―offering another wink at the show’s meta charm.
With globe-trotting locations and a heart-fluttering lead pairing, "Can This Love Be Translated?" premieres January 16 (Friday) on Netflix.
