Taxi Driver was crowned Drama of the Year.

At the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, broadcast live from 8:50 p.m. KST on Dec. 31 at SBS Prism Tower in Seoul’s Sangam neighborhood, Taxi Driver Season 3 took home the top Drama of the Year honor.

Director Kang Bo-seung, taking the stage, admitted, “It’s my first time saying something like this, so I’m at a loss for words.”

Kang noted he served as an assistant director on Season 1 and led Season 3 as the main director, adding, “This brand wouldn’t have lasted five years without our viewers. Keeping the audience in mind is what matters most.”

He also thanked the cast beyond the leads, singling out the actors who portrayed the villains: “They took on some rough, dark roles, and I’m especially grateful for their commitment.”

Kang emphasized the crew’s contributions, saying, “You can’t make a drama with just actors and a director. I’m grateful to everyone on set and our post-production teams.”

Reflecting on the show’s socially conscious themes, he continued, “From late ’24 into ’25, a lot felt frustrating and unfair. Because we breathe the same air as our viewers and live on the same ground, those realities inevitably seeped into the drama. You’ll feel it more and more as the story unfolds.” He teased that only two weeks remain in the run―“The finale is truly a blast, so please don’t miss it”―drawing buzz right up to the end.
