Rapper MC Mong is pushing back against rumors tying him to Cha Ga-won ― chairman of P_Arc Group and CEO of ONE HUNDRED, where MC Mong served as a producer until recently ― calling published KakaoTalk messages “spliced and fabricated” and announcing legal action against the outlet that ran them.

On Dec. 24, after news outlet The Fact released what it claimed were KakaoTalk exchanges between MC Mong and Cha from April to May ― including what it framed as “pregnancy talk” ― the artist took to social media to call the report “blatantly false.” He said the messages “don’t exist in my KakaoTalk” and were newly created, not stitched together, adding that he will sue the outlet and individuals involved.

In a longer statement, MC Mong alleged there was an attempted takeover of his company on June 30. He claimed a bogus document said to be from Cha’s relatives and a contract demanding a transfer of shares appeared, and that he was coerced into stamping the contract after people came to his home, threw objects and threatened him.

He also argued the story reinterpreted “defensive” texts and mixed in messages that don’t actually exist, and said attempts to contact the newsroom went unanswered.

Addressing his private life, MC Mong reiterated that he “never engaged in an improper relationship.” On finances, he said the widely cited “12 billion won lawsuit” is actually about fulfilling existing debt obligations, not a new claim. He added that he chose to leave the company to avoid harming the label and its artists.

Back in June, as controversy swirled over a JU HAKNYEON’s removal from THE BOYZ, speculation mounted that MC Mong was involved amid his sudden step-away from the role of a producer at the company. At the time, he denied any connection, saying he stepped away from work due to health and personal reasons.
