Actor Ahn Bo-hyun is giving back in a big way.
To close out the year, Ahn donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea. The gift will support the Korean Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness, funding sight-saving care for children and teens from low-income families―covering surgeries for pediatric cataracts and retinal diseases, as well as rehabilitation services for kids with low vision―to help them regain healthy eyesight and a brighter future.
His philanthropy has been steady, not sporadic. In 2020, amid the COVID-19 outbreak, he supplied 3,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to childcare and social welfare facilities. In 2022, he donated approximately 50 million won worth of menstrual products to women in vulnerable communities.
With his latest contribution, Ahn was inducted as the 3,800th member of the Community Chest’s Honor Society, the organization’s high-level donor circle for individuals.
On the career front, Ahn recently earned Best New Actor at the 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards for his performance in the film “Pretty Crazy.” He’s also set to lead tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama "Spring Fever," premiering January 5.
