Son Tae-jin opened up about what he did with his prize money.

On the Dec. 23 episode of SBS’ "Invitation from Bachelor Again," guests Kim Jun-hyun, Brian, Hyoyeon and Son Tae-jin joined the cast.

Host Lee Sang-min introduced Son as “moms’ trot idol” and noted he’s a Seoul National University-trained vocalist who took first place on both a classical vocal audition and a trot competition.

Lee then cut to the chase: “Just the trot prize was about 629.7 million won. You’ve got at least 700-800 million won by now, right?”

The cast piled on with questions: “Where did it all go? Is any left? Did you invest? How much did you give your parents?”

“I left it untouched in my account for about a year and a half. I didn’t spend a won,” Son replied.

Hearing that, Tak Jae-hoon quipped, “Then can you lend me some?” Son explained, “That win came from the public’s support, so I didn’t want to spend the prize money carelessly. Eventually I put some toward my apartment deposit and did some things for my parents.”

Tak joked again, “Money should be handled by someone who knows how―mind if I handle it for you?” while Lee Sang-min cautioned, “Don’t lend it to anyone,” drawing laughs.
