After a heated back-and-forth with a social media user, TV personality Kim Song ― who is married to singer Kang Won-rae ― says she’s done cursing.

In a recent post, she wrote, "Letting the curses fly can feel cathartic, but it’s not good for my mental health," adding, "the profanity has been removed and I won’t be doing that anymore." She continued, "Still, some things need to be said," and posted the word "myeolgong" ― a Korean slogan meaning "annihilate communism."

Earlier, Kim had shared posts about political and social issues and sparred with several commenters, using explicit language that sparked backlash. Those comments were later deleted or blurred. She followed up with a longer note, explaining the situation and opening up about the anger and pain she felt.

In her message, Kim said she has "for a long time received baseless speculation and attacks, as well as personal insults and threatening remarks aimed at my family." "I’m human, and I have feelings," she wrote. "I can’t say that resorting to profanity was the right choice, but in that moment my emotions were at an extreme." She added, "As a mom, even if I’m angry, I won’t be hurling profanity anymore," and asked readers to "look at the full picture, not just one side."

Reaction online has been mixed: some criticized her response as inappropriate for a public figure, while others expressed sympathy, seeing it as a reaction to malicious comments. Attention now turns to whether the controversy will cool following her vow to stop cursing.
