Netflix has locked in a premiere date and dropped a new poster for its romantic-comedy series "Can This Love Be Translated?", led by Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung.
The series bows Jan. 16, 2026 on Netflix. "Can This Love Be Translated?" follows Joo Ho-jin (Kim), a multilingual interpreter who ends up working for global superstar Cha Moo-hee (Go) ― and finds himself swept into an unpredictable, cross-cultural romance.
From the Hong Sisters ― Hong Jung-eun and Hong Mi-ran, the romance hitmakers behind "Alchemy of Souls", "Hotel del Luna", "The Greatest Love", and "Master’s Sun" ― the series is directed by Yoo Young-eun, who brought sleek, emotionally precise visuals to "Bloody Heart". Production spanned Japan, Canada, and Italy for a globe-trotting backdrop.
Kim, beloved for "When Life Gives You Tangerines", "Start-Up", and "Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha", teams with Go, fresh off "Sweet Home", "Alchemy of Souls", and "Resident Playbook", promising crackling chemistry to kick off the new year.
The date-announcement poster teases the vibe: interpreter Joo Ho-jin and top star Cha Moo-hee stand back-to-back, earbuds and a receiver hinting at a strictly professional start ― and all the mixed signals to come. The title treatment layers the word “love” in multiple languages, nodding to the show’s multilingual twist on romance.
"Can This Love Be Translated?" premieres globally Jan. 16, 2026 on Netflix.
