“Dynamic Kiss” has clinched the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Global Top 10 for a second consecutive week.
The SBS Wednesday-Thursday rom-com (written by Ha Yoon-a, Tae Kyung-min; directed by Kim Jae-hyun, Kim Hyun-woo) is riding a wave at home and abroad. Episode 8 hit a series high with 7.1% in the Seoul metro area and a peak of 8.5%, ranking No. 1 among weekday dramas across all networks. Internationally, it has ruled Netflix’s Global Top 10 for Non-English TV for two weeks straight (Nov. 24-Dec. 7), underscoring the K-rom-com’s global pull.
Leaning into the comfort-food pleasures of a classic rom-com, the series has viewers declaring, “This is what a rom-com should be.” Episode 8 ended with Gong Ji-hyuk (Jang Ki-yong) discovering that Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun-jin) is neither a mom nor married―clearing the biggest obstacle between them and leaving fans wondering if their romance can finally hit its stride.
On Dec. 10, ahead of Episode 9, the production dropped new stills of Ji-hyuk and Da-rim―and of Ji-hyuk with Yoo Ha-yeong (Woo Da-bi), the woman he agreed to marry―stoking speculation.
Ji-hyuk had rushed into an engagement with Ha-yeong to secure his long-suffering mother’s freedom and to protect Da-rim, whom he mistakenly believed was married. But just before the ceremony, he learned Da-rim is neither a wife nor a mom. Even so, the latest photos appear to show Ji-hyuk and Ha-yeong going through with an engagement ceremony. Will he really follow through―and what does that mean for his feelings for Da-rim?
Tension also flares at the office: Ji-hyuk arrives with an icy, unreadable gaze, while Da-rim looks shaken. Did he tell her he knows everything? Could this be what pushes Da-rim to leave the “Mother TF” team?
The producers tease, “In Episode 9, Ji-hyuk is thrown into turmoil after discovering Da-rim’s secret―torn between an irresistible pull toward her and the hurt of having been lied to, even as Kim Sun-woo (Kim Moo-joon) begins openly pursuing her.
