Singer and hitmaker J.Y. Park has donated 1 billion won out of his own pocket to help children in need in Korea and abroad―his fourth straight year doing so, bringing his personal giving to 4 billion won.

JYP Entertainment said Park made the donations on December 4 at the company’s headquarters in Seoul’s Gangdong District, giving 200 million won each to Gachon University Gil Medical Center, Konyang University Hospital, and Seoul National University Children’s Hospital, plus 400 million won to World Vision.

According to World Vision, the funds will support medical treatment for children in Mexico and Brazil and aid recovery and child services in Asian regions recently hit by floods and landslides, including Thailand, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka.

“At the end of the day, I just want every child with the potential to change the world to dream freely and grow up healthy. Please make sure they get the care they need,” Park said at the handover ceremony. “I hope this reaches exactly where it’s needed.”

“I have two daughters, 6 and 5,” he added. “When I see kids undergoing treatment, their bright eyes remind me of my girls, and it moves me even more. I’ll keep giving―personally and together with JYP and our artists―by working hard and paying it forward.”

Known for his steady philanthropy, Park continues to lead by example. JYP Entertainment donated 1.714 billion won this year alone, with total contributions since 2020 reaching 7.92 billion won.
