Kim Young-kwang just lost his credit card privileges at home.
On the Nov. 24 episode of SBS’s "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny", cameras followed the everyday life of married couple Kim Young-kwang and Kim Eun-ji ― and a jaw-dropping credit card bill became the unexpected main character.
Kim Eun-ji confronted her husband after spotting roughly 6 million won in charges for the month. Kim insisted it was “all meals,” but things got worse when the next statement preview popped up: the following month’s total was pushing 9.7 million won ― again, mostly food.
Stunned, Kim Eun-ji fell silent as her husband frantically scanned the itemized list. “I really only spent it on eating,” he repeated, almost proudly, which only raised her eyebrows higher.
When he couldn’t remember where, what, or with whom he’d eaten, Kim Eun-ji reminded him, “You’ve got to balance input and output at a reasonable level.”
Kim countered that he’s generous with juniors and that seniors love him for it, flexing his network. So she called his bluff: “Then prove it. Call them.” He upped the ante, betting he could quickly fill their table with his contacts.
“If you can’t do it in time, you’re off my card for a month,” she proposed. “Then what do I use? I don’t have cash,” he replied, prompting Kim Gu-ra to quip from the studio, “So he spent like that with no money?”
Confident, Kim vowed to rally six people in three hours, dialing former soccer star Ahn Jung-hwan first. After hearing the situation, Ahn didn’t hold back: “Are you out of your mind? How do you drop 9 million won just on food? Of course your wife’s mad. You messed up. Get on your knees.” Kim Eun-ji couldn’t have agreed more.
Next up was singer Lim Young-woong, a close friend through soccer. While Lim was in the middle of concert prep, Kim sent the address anyway, asking him to swing by if he could.
Back in the studio, Kim joked, “If Young-woong comes as a special guest, does Jo Woo-jong’s seat become mine?” Seo Jang-hoon shut it down with a laugh: “You don’t have to worry. He’s not coming.” Still, Kim doubled down that he’d make it happen.
Lee Young-pyo also stopped by after Kim’s call and weighed in on his competitive streak: “Competitiveness is great when it’s under control ― sometimes his isn’t.”
Kim reflected on his past, saying he turned a corner after the infamous “water bottle incident,” which led to a six-game suspension plus league and club fines. “Getting shunned by fans hit me hard,” he admitted. “After that, I became a truly fan?friendly player,” he added with a self-aware grin.
In the end, Kim failed the challenge ― and surrendered the card to his wife.
A teaser at the end of the episode announced that comedian couple Kim Min-gi and Hong Yoon-hwa will join "Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny" next. Hong also revealed she’s committing to what she calls the last diet of her life, setting up plenty of curiosity for the next episode.
