Operation 5283 crossed the finish line with a win.

On the Nov. 22 episode of SBS’ Friday-Saturday drama "Taxi Driver 3", Lee Je-hoon’s Kim Do-gi teamed up with the Rainbow Taxi crew to serve up another dose of vigilante justice.

Do-gi zeroed in on Matsuda, the boss of a Japanese human-trafficking syndicate, by playing the long game. He prodded the kingpin on purpose―blunt, unpredictable, and different from anyone Matsuda had met―until the crime boss couldn’t help but be drawn in.

Opening up, Matsuda confessed he’d never fully trusted anyone, that loyalty had only ever gotten him betrayed―so he learned to betray first. He even joked about snapping food pics with no one to send them to, asking Do-gi if he could start sending them his way. Then came the pitch: forget “underling,” let’s be family.

“Let’s become sworn brothers―big ceremony, raised glasses. I’ll give you a seat worthy of you,” he said. Do-gi played along, answering with a respectful “Boss,” and accepted.

During the lavish rite, Matsuda dropped a chilling aside: if Do-gi had accepted being his subordinate at the start, he would’ve killed him. Do-gi shot back, “It’s not too late,” before the two clasped hands to seal the deal.

That’s when a wave of retired gangsters crashed the party. Riled up by provocative messages, they challenged the syndicate currently running the streets. Chaos erupted, and police swarmed in, hauling off the brawlers en masse.

Do-gi, who had mapped out the chaos in advance, whisked Matsuda away. Back at the hideout, the boss fumed about a rat inside the organization and, relieved, said he still had someone he could trust.

Then Do-gi dropped the mask. Stunned, Matsuda protested―he would’ve given Do-gi everything, so why betray him? Do-gi deadpanned, “Break’s almost over. I-seo has to get back to school. A guy like you would never understand―not in this lifetime,” and took him down. When Matsuda raised a gun at Do-gi, undercover officers struck first, dropping the boss where he stood.

With victim I-seo rescued, Rainbow Taxi brought her safely back to Korea. The Neko Loans employees who handed her to the Japanese ring were punished―and just like that, Operation 5283 wrapped successfully.
