Choi Hyun-woo says he once nailed the winning lottery numbers.
On the Nov. 18 episode of SBS’s “Invitation from Bachelor Again,” the world-class magician dropped by as a guest and immediately had the studio buzzing.
Host Lee Sang-min teed up his resume: “He was the first Asian to be crowned world champion at the ‘magic Olympics,’ and the first Korean to win 2024 Magician of the Year.”
Choi explained, “That award is incredibly prestigious ― only one person gets it. They even stage a four-day magic show in that winner’s honor.”
Then Kim Jun-ho reminded viewers, “You even hit the lottery once.” Choi didn’t miss a beat: “I did. I performed it live in front of 50,000 viewers, and the footage is still out there.”
The show rolled the clip of Choi accurately calling every number, prompting the panel to beg for his secret ― and the next set of numbers.
“I figured I’m a magician, so it wouldn’t be a big deal,” Choi said. “But after that broadcast, the lottery company’s phone lines were jammed with calls and complaints.”
“In the end, I signed a written pledge so they wouldn’t sue,” he continued. “I agreed not to talk numbers before an official draw. There’s even an apology video from me on the lottery’s website.”
ATEEZ’s SAN asked the question on everyone’s mind: “Do you actually know the numbers ― or are you changing the winning combo?”
Choi smiled and kept the mystery intact: “Can’t say.” Sam Hammington cracked, “Don’t tell everyone ― just tell us. Kill the cameras!”
