SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday series "Dynamic Kiss" is already buzzing at home and abroad after premiere week, thanks to a crackling romance that literally starts with a kiss between Jang Ki-yong (as Gong Ji-hyeok) and Ahn Eun-jin (as Go Da-rim).
Upending a familiar K-drama trope―the unspoken rule that a big kiss lands at the end of Episode 4―the show goes all in from the jump. Ji-hyeok and Da-rim share a force-of-nature kiss at the end of the premiere, fall hard, then part ways. Fate throws them back together when Da-rim, desperate to make ends meet with a stealth job hunt, walks into an interview only to find Ji-hyeok sitting on the other side of the table as a newly minted team leader. Kiss, love, breakup, reunion―all within two episodes.
On Nov. 18, a day ahead of Episode 3, the production dropped new stills teasing the charged aftermath of that interview-room reunion that had living rooms gasping at the end of Episode 2.
In the photos, Ji-hyeok sits as an interviewer for the Mother TF team, head down and seemingly uninterested―until he looks up, startled, locking eyes with someone off-camera. That someone is Da-rim, stepping into the room as a nervous applicant. For Da-rim, who carries interview trauma, just seeing Ji-hyeok in the interviewer’s chair is enough to make her heart drop, yet she forces a bright smile and soldiers on.
The final still shows Da-rim outside the room, gripping the doorknob and catching her breath, clearly rattled by what just went down. What exactly happened inside―and can she land this job despite the fact that her would-be boss is the man she shared an act-of-God-level kiss with?
“Starting with Episode 3 tomorrow (Nov. 19), Ji-hyeok and Da-rim’s office rom-com really kicks into gear,” the producers tease. “Their reunion, tangled in misunderstandings, will serve up big laughs and fluttery hearts. Jang Ki-yong and Ahn Eun-jin bring a playful rhythm to the story. It’s not traditionally ‘romantic,’ but somehow it’s even more pulse-racing―so stay tuned.”
