Actor Jinyoung made his first appearance at the Golden Horse Awards―widely regarded as the premier film honors in the Chinese-speaking world―stepping into the spotlight at the storied ceremony.
On Nov. 17, he hit the red carpet at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards after being invited for his leading turn in the Taiwanese original film 'The Photo from 1977.'
Set in 1977 in Zhongli, Taiwan, the period romance follows three young dreamers chasing their ambitions amid turbulence and hope. Jinyoung takes on a new challenge as Kim Ho-hee, a taekwondo coach who heads to Taiwan to start over after past wounds.
Teaming with a rising Taiwanese talent known for Netflix's 'The Victims' Game' and the film 'I Am the Secret in Your Heart,' he helps deliver a cross-border story about friendship, love, and hope. Jinyoung wrapped his first Golden Horse red carpet to loud cheers from reporters and fans on site.
At the festival, the film held its first screening, and Jinyoung met audiences for his first post-screening Q&A. The movie opens locally on Dec. 24.
