FC Wonder Women ace Mashima is set for a head-to-head showdown with FC National Team Family’s top playmaker Park Ha-yan on "Kick a Goal".
The Nov. 12 episode of SBS’s "Kick a Goal" will feature the final semifinal of the GIFA Cup. It’s a true finals-caliber matchup: Mashima’s FC Wonder Women takes on Park’s FC National Team Family with a ticket to the championship on the line.
Both clubs were heavy favorites in the recent G League but fell short at the finish, making this semifinal a full-on redemption bid. Expect zero give on either side. After stumbling at the last hurdle, all eyes are on whether Wonder Women can overpower powerhouse National Team Family and punch its way back to the title game.
At the heart of the drama is the marquee duel between the two elite aces, meeting for the first time in regular-league play. Each called the other the division’s top dog. “The player I’m most wary of on 'Kick a Goal' is Park Ha-yan,” Mashima admitted, while Park countered, “Mashima might be the toughest out there―but I’m taking the win today.” Having already dispatched heavy hitters like Heo Kyung-hee and Jai, can Mashima topple Park and carry her squad to victory?
Another big storyline: So Yumi’s surge. Fresh off a hat trick against FC World Class, she’s become Wonder Women’s not-so-secret weapon. “It may look like it’s just Mashima vs. Park―don’t forget about me,” she teased.
Still, Wonder Women faced turbulence mid-match. With the offense sputtering, head coach Cho Jae-jin snapped, “Do you even want this?” To make matters worse, brick-wall keeper Kisum appeared to injure her hand while punching away a shot, rattling the backline.
