Director Yoon Ga-eun’s indie feature “The World of Love” has cleared 90,000 admissions nationwide.

According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) box office database on the 10th, the film drew 12,718 moviegoers over the weekend, lifting its cumulative total to 90,005 admissions.

Opening on Sept. 22, “The World of Love” cracked 30,000 admissions in five days and 70,000 in 15, and is now on the verge of hitting the 100,000 mark.

Among Korean indie/arthouse releases this year, six titles have topped 90,000 admissions―including “The World of Love.” Of those, only two are live-action narrative features: “HomeCam” and “It’s Okay!” If “The World of Love” surpasses the 118,094 admissions posted by “It’s Okay!” it will become 2025’s most-watched Korean live-action indie arthouse film, excluding animation.

Now in an extended run, the film is still holding in Korea’s overall box office top 10 in week three and maintained double-digit seat occupancy throughout the weekend. At this pace, cracking 100,000 this week looks all but certain.

Fueling the momentum: glowing endorsements from filmmakers, writers, and actors, plus strong word of mouth from ticket buyers―pointing to a healthy over-100K finish.
