How do you dodge disaster when your “marriage” is a lie?
On the Nov. 7 episode of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “Would You Marry Me,” Yoo Merry and Kim Woo-joo’s sham marriage teetered on the brink of exposure.
Backed into a corner by Jeon Woo-joo’s threats, Merry broke things off with Kim Woo-joo and started avoiding him. She warned Jeon to leave Kim out of it since she’d done everything he asked, but he pushed to start over with her, insisting they could be happy if they stayed in the house together.
Merry shut him down, saying she wouldn’t take the house and planned to confess everything to the executive. Jeon exploded, claiming half the place was his and scoffing at the idea of throwing away something so valuable. When Merry accused him of wanting her back for the house, he doubled down, raging that he’d get both her and the property―and threatening Kim in the process.
As Jeon raised a hand to strike, Kim Woo-joo stepped in. “If you’re going to threaten someone, threaten me. Aren’t you embarrassed?” he shot back, telling Jeon to go ahead and report them if he wanted―just never show up in front of Merry again. Kim then played a recording of Jeon’s intimidation, and Jeon beat a hasty retreat.
Afterward, Kim laid his heart bare: not having Merry was the hardest part. He begged her not to “break up for his sake,” asking her to stay by his side. The two sealed it with a kiss.
With their feelings back on track, the pair headed to Myungsoondang’s 80th-anniversary event. Kim tried to introduce Merry to Go Pil-nyeon but missed his window; still, Go seemed to clock their chemistry right away.
When word came that Managing Director Baek would also be at the event, Kim urged Merry to head out first. On her way, she ran into Go Pil-nyeon, who mentioned that Team Leader Kim Woo-joo is his grandson and warmly invited her to visit sometime―a conversation Baek happened to witness.
Already under fire from his CEO after offering up Botte Palace as a giveaway, Baek quickly called to report he might be able to claw the property back―hinting the prize could soon return to company hands.
Moments later, he cornered Kim at the event: “What exactly is your relationship with Yoo Merry? Are you two really married?” The confrontation set the stage for a high-stakes reckoning―and left viewers wondering how Merry and Woo-joo will wriggle out of their latest close call.
