Model Kim Sung-chan (birth name Kim Kyung-mo) has died after a two-year battle with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He was 35.

According to reports on Nov. 7, Kim passed away on Nov. 6 after undergoing treatment since being diagnosed with blood cancer in 2023.

His older brother shared the news on social media the same day, writing, “Kyung-mo left us after fighting cancer for more than two years. Please keep him in your thoughts and offer warm words for my brother.”

Even during treatment, Kim tried to keep fans’ spirits up on social media, posting messages like “I won’t lose.” Earlier this year he updated followers, “As you can see, I’m recovering well. It’s late, but let’s always be happy.” News of his passing has left fans and colleagues heartbroken.

Kim made his runway debut at the "2014 S/S Unbounded Awe show" in 2013, then hit Seoul Fashion Week and broke out on OnStyle’s "Korea’s Next Top Model, Season 5: Guys & Girls," where his distinctive charm and quick wit turned heads. With top models Lee Hye-jung and Kim Won-joong serving as judges, Kim made a strong impression with his confident presence.

In 2019, he took the Milan Fashion Week stage for the "2020 S/S User" collection, signaling his leap to the global scene. He went on to appear in multiple fashion labels’ lookbooks and commercial campaigns (including beer and laptops), and connected with fans through his YouTube channel "SungChan Kim."
