Top model and TV personality Lee Hyun-yi returned to her alma mater, Ewha Womans University, on November 5 for Ewhaian’s “Ewhadam: Stories from Ewha” talk, where she shared candid, real-world advice with current students.
The November installment of the Ewhaian-hosted series spotlights alumnae thriving across industries, inviting them to open up about career paths and values. Lee drew a big response as she reflected on her journey as a model, broadcaster, and working mom―and how she keeps it all in balance.
“Being back on campus gives me the same butterflies I had as a student,” she said, adding, “The spirit of taking on challenges that I learned at Ewha has been my biggest engine.” She urged students not to fear forging their own path: “I chose a road totally different from my major, and that choice helped me grow. You won’t know what truly drives you until you try―so be brave and go for it.”
With warmth and wit, Lee unpacked career highs and hard-won lessons, including how she balances work and family. “You need the discipline to be fully present in whatever you’re doing,” she emphasized. “When you immerse yourself, focus follows―and with that focus come results, joy, and a more balanced life.”
A lively Q&A wrapped the session, covering everything from career decisions to daily routines and self-care. Lee’s down-to-earth answers clearly resonated with the crowd.
“It was meaningful to stand face-to-face with my Ewha juniors,” she said. “I want to keep finding ways to pass on the courage to take risks.”
Meanwhile, Lee continues to cement her status as a leading working-mom model and TV personality, appearing on shows like "Kick a Goal" and "Dongchimi," among others.
