Ji Chang-wook lights the fuse on Disney+ original series "The Manipulated" with a blazing turn that kick-starts its revenge saga.

On Nov. 5, Disney+ dropped Episodes 1?4 of "The Manipulated", created by writer Oh Sang-ho and directors Park Shin-woo and Kim Chang-ju. Front and center is Ji’s gripping performance, which anchors the narrative from the jump.

The action drama tracks Tae-jung (Ji Chang-wook), an everyday guy railroaded into prison for a heinous crime. When he discovers the whole setup was orchestrated by Yohan (D.O.), he plots his payback―and the hunt begins.

Ji maps Tae-jung’s transformation with precision, shifting from a stunned, wrongfully accused everyman to a sharpened, unflinching avenger. His calibrated mix of vulnerability and resolve heightens the stakes, while a run of bone-crunching, bare-knuckle set pieces―many inside the prison, including a standout showdown with Ye Deok-su (played by Yang Dong-geun)―amps up the adrenaline.

Episode 4 closes with Tae-jung and fellow inmates dumped into unfamiliar territory, teeing up fresh peril and big questions about what comes next.

Following its four-episode premiere, "The Manipulated" will roll out two new episodes every Wednesday, for a 12-episode season streaming to viewers worldwide on Disney+.
