Actress Lee Si-young, now a single mom, has welcomed her second child ― a baby girl.
Lee shared the news on social media, writing, “I believe God sent this gift to me. I’ll make sure Jung-yoon and our little ‘Brave One’ are happy for life. Thank you so much, Dr. Won Hye-sung ― I won’t forget this gratitude.” Her agency Ace Factory added that both mom and baby are recovering well.
In March, Lee announced her divorce after eight years of marriage. In July, she revealed she became pregnant by transferring a frozen embryo the couple had created before the split but never used.
At the time, Lee said she couldn’t bring herself to discard the embryos and acknowledged that her ex-husband did not consent to the transfer, adding that she would bear full responsibility for the decision. He later stated that, while he hadn’t agreed to a second pregnancy as the divorce approached, he would take responsibility for the life that resulted.
The baby’s nickname during pregnancy was “Sseuk-sseuk-ee” ― loosely, “Brave One.” In August, while eight months pregnant, Lee completed a 5K race in Sydney alongside her firstborn son, Jung-yoon. And in October, she donated 100 million won to the Korean Unwed Mothers Families Association, noting that many families need support and that she hopes to do even more.
