Singer-actor Rowoon begins his mandatory service today (Oct. 27) as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army.
His agency FNC Entertainment said there will be no on-site send-off to minimize congestion, adding, “Please continue to support him until the day he returns after completing his service.”
Rowoon was initially slated to enlist on July 21 but received a Level 7 result during his first physical, prompting a reexamination in early August. After filing an appeal and retaking the exam, he was cleared for active duty and is enlisting accordingly.
On Oct. 26, the day before enlistment, Rowoon posted on social media, “Feeling refreshed. I’ll be back,” along with a photo showing his freshly cropped hair.
Rowoon debuted with boy band SF9 in 2016 and made his acting bow with KBS2’s "School 2017" the following year. He has since starred in "She Would Never Know," "The King’s Affection" and "The Matchmakers." After departing SF9 in 2023 to focus on acting, he most recently led Disney+ series "The Murky Stream," which premiered last month.
