SBS’ brand-new talk show "Rerereport" just bowed, and it’s nothing like what Korean TV has tried before.

Premiering on Oct. 23, SBS’ Star Talk: "Rerereport" leans into a playful premise: four “aliens” study Earthlings. Hosts Jang Do-yeon, Lee Yong-jin, Lee Eun-ji and rapper Nucksal commit to the bit as crash-landed extraterrestrials, even riffing on each other’s identities ― at one point, Jang teases Nucksal with a cheeky mix-up that had everyone cracking up.

As teased, the first episode welcomed three very different guests: presidential office spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung, actor Kim Hyung-mook and singer EJAE.

Billed as the “Earthling Who Delivers Messages,” Kang met Jang inside the presidential office briefing room ― a first for a Korean variety show. Kang even flipped roles to give an on-the-spot mock briefing as Jang’s spokesperson, rolling with the host’s pranks and showing surprising variety chops.

Talking through a typical day, Kang said she’s at the office by 7 a.m. and “in meetings pretty much from then on.” On how she stays in touch with the president, she noted, “He mostly reaches out on Telegram.” When calls do come through, she added, “He’ll ask, ‘Is now a good time to talk?’”

Kang also joked that the staff could use a “digital boss-free day,” adding, “We’re connected 24/7, and it feels like the president reads almost every message at night. You’d be surprised how many pings come in after hours,” drawing big laughs.

Actor Kim Hyung-mook ― a bona fide scene-stealer from the drama "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" and Park Chan-wook’s film "No Other Choice" ― linked up with Lee Yong-jin and Nucksal. From the jump, he dove headfirst into the alien improv, sparking effortless chemistry and plenty of laughs.

Kim shared that he landed his "No Other Choice" role through an audition, saying, “I like auditioning ― it’s what actors should do.” For "Bon Appétit, Your Majesty" where he played an envoy from the Ming dynasty, he trained hard enough to ad-lib in convincing Chinese, hinting at even bigger things ahead.

Singer EJAE sat down with Lee Eun-ji. The artist behind "Golden" ― the standout soundtrack from the animated feature "KPop Demon Hunters" ― recently performed the track on NBC’s "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." “My voice wasn’t in great shape that day, and I was obsessing over the high note,” she admitted. “My partner and my manager told me to focus on the lyrics; once I did, the high note came out.”

EJAE, who trained for years at SM Entertainment, also recalled a career-boosting vote of confidence from Yuri of Girls’ Generation: “She told me, ‘You’re really going to be something’ and ‘You’re absolutely going to make it.’ That gave me hope,” she said, expressing her gratitude.
