'Would You Marry Me' star Choi Woo-shik is leaning hard into that pretend newlywed life―and every swoony beat is landing.
SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama 'Would You Marry Me' (written by Lee Hana, directed by Song Hyun-wook and Hwang In-hyeok) follows two strangers who stage a 90-day marriage to secure a luxury newlywed apartment, and the series is heating up with viewers at home and abroad.
Episode 4 ended with a heart-fluttering twist that sent excitement soaring. After drawing a firm line with Yoo Me-ri (Jung So-min), Kim Woo-joo (Choi Woo-shik) suddenly throws himself into the fake marriage―and we finally learn why. The “keychain girl” who once comforted him at his lowest was none other than Me-ri, his First Love―and he already knew it. The reveal delivered a delicious jolt.
Fans are clocking Woo-joo’s every micro-shift and falling hard for this soft-hearted lead. When the department store president drops by and Me-ri calls for help, Woo-joo grumbles, hits mute, and then, as if he can’t help himself, breaks into a foot-tapping grin. Most of all, Woo-joo’s tender, attentive side is lighting up screens―whether he’s giving Me-ri heart-eyes to throw Baek Sang-hyun (played by Bae Na-ra) off the scent or quietly smiling at their framed photos in the apartment.
