Teo Yoo is set to host a benefit screening for the indie film "People and Meat".

"People and Meat" follows three senior citizens who team up to chase free barbecue, embarking on a mischievous, life-affirming adventure about savoring every bite of life.

Since his screen debut in "Actresses," Yoo has appeared in "Leto," "Vertigo," "Pawn," "New Year Blues" and "Past Lives." He’s now throwing his support behind "People and Meat" with a benefit screening, the second such event following one led by actress Choi Kang-hee.

After catching the film recently, Yoo raved that he was “moved by the three leads’ layered performances,” adding that it’s so funny and engaging that “time just flew by.” Hoping more moviegoers will discover it, he decided to organize the benefit screening.

The Yoo-backed benefit screening of "People and Meat" will take place Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Art Nine, with further details to be announced on distributor Triple Pictures’ social channels.

Released over Korea’s Chuseok holiday, "People and Meat" recently surpassed 10,000 admissions nationwide. It’s drawing raves with a 98% CGV Golden Egg score and a 9.6 user rating on Naver (as of Oct. 21), while a fan-driven #AddMoreScreens hashtag and a late surge in ticketing rankings fuel its word-of-mouth momentum.

"People and Meat" is now playing in theaters across Korea.
