Park Seo-jeong edged out Lee Ha-yoon to move on to the next round.
The Oct. 14 episode of SBS' "The Ballad of Us" featured head-to-head battles in Round 2.
Youngest contender Lee Ha-yoon called out Park Seo-jeong, a former top student at an arts high school, setting up a compelling showdown.
Lee took on izi’s “Emergency Room,” bouncing back from last round’s slump and delivering vocals so powerful you’d forget she’s the youngest in the field.
Cha Tae-hyun praised the performance, saying it felt like listening to a teen drama soundtrack. Singer Kwon Jin-ah, stepping in for Crush as a guest judge, added, “Honestly, I wondered how good someone so young could be, but she has a natural gift for making music genuinely fun to listen to. It was shocking in the best way.”
Park Seo-jeong answered with “Rain and You,” sung by Park Joong-hoon from the film "Radio Star," reinterpreting the classic with her own color. The panel looked torn over how to call it.
Jung Jae-hyung said, “It felt like she was shooting her own movie. She relaxed before singing and told her story―that was wonderful.”
Park Kyung-lim raved, “Her voice is so enchanting. When she hummed, it changed the air in the room.”
And Kwon Jin-ah declared, “Her tone is a treasure―like a raw gem. With more polish, she could become a truly remarkable artist.”
In the end, Park Seo-jeong won the matchup and advanced to the next round.
