Actor Yeo Jin-goo revealed to fans during his 20th-anniversary Asia fan meeting tour that he plans to enlist in the military.
The 28-year-old star shared a heartfelt handwritten letter at the event, opening up about the bittersweet feelings of stepping away for a while and promising to return with even more to give.
Marking two decades since his 2005 debut in the film "Sad Movie," Yeo told fans in his letter, “As I write this, I’m filled with gratitude, excitement and a touch of sadness. The time is coming for me to step away briefly and take on a new experience,” announcing his enlistment plans.
“Before I go, meeting your eyes and laughing together across this Asia tour will remain precious memories,” he continued. “While we’re apart, I’ll work on becoming stronger and more mature. I’ll come back healthier―in body and mind―and stand before you with even deeper acting.”
He also added with a smile, “Don’t be too sad. You’ve got 30 dramas and shows, and 20 films to remember me by. Binge them whenever you miss me―and wait for me.”
Yeo is currently greeting fans across Asia through his special 20th-anniversary fan meeting, "BLANKSPACE," with stops in Jakarta, Tokyo, Osaka, Chengdu, Shanghai and Taipei. He’ll wrap the tour with a Seoul fan meeting at Sky Art Hall on November 1.
