"Manager Seojin" is sending Lee Seo-jin and Kim Kwang-gyu on their first out-of-town assignment to Busan―rolling out to back actress Uhm Ji-won on the big night.
SBS’s Friday variety series "Manager Seojin" premiered October 3 and topped its time slot in the Seoul metro area, drawing a 5.4% household rating with a peak at 6.7% and a 1.5% share in the key 20-49 demo. Online, it surged to No. 2 overall―and No. 1 among unscripted―on Netflix’s Top TV Shows in Korea Today.
The close-up road talk show pairs actors Lee and Kim as one-day managers who shadow stars and handle the not-so-glam chores―two fifty-something “rookies” whose everyday chemistry is driving big laughs.
The October 10 episode heads to the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), celebrating its 30th anniversary, for the closing ceremony. Uhm Ji-won appears as the show’s second “My Star,” taking the stage as a presenter for the BIFF Mecenat Award.
To make sure Uhm owns the red carpet, Lee and Kim go all-in. Before the ceremony, they even choose her gown themselves―eliciting some priceless reactions as they tackle their first-ever dress selection.
Even seasoned red-carpet fixtures like Lee and Kim find themselves playing the ultimate support team on "Manager Seojin", waiting in the wings under the bright lights with eyes only for their “My Star.”
With Lee’s experience at the Academy Awards, viewers are curious whether he can bring those VIP-handling skills to BIFF this time around.
Will the duo meet Uhm Ji-won’s expectations and guide her flawlessly down the carpet? Find out tonight at 11:10 p.m. KST on "Manager Seojin".
